How about
When people say, "Good things come in small packages" (which absolutely makes me cringe), you could say "Gunpowder comes in small packages, too!" ;) I sometimes like to tell people that small things are poisonous.

If I feel that a reply is warranted,I just look at them,very seriously, and say,"excuse me?"..If the dumb comment/question is repeated,I just look at them,smile,and maybe shake my head as if to say,"Some people are so ignorant"
