Hi, Michelle!
Thanks for the welcome! I haven't tried the small sizes at Banana Republic but thanks for the suggestion, I will check them out. I do like some of what GapKids offers, although I agree that they've become a little "babyish" recently. I love Old Navy's kids section for casual stuff and their x-small or small womens' sizes, depending on what it is. Target's kids' department and Junior's has some cool stuff from time to time. I usually have to get it from their website, since the stores close to me run out of my size quickly or else don't have the selection that's on the site. Same with Old Navy.
Recently I got a pair of "boyfriend" jeans from shopjustice.com of all places--they used to be Limited Too (which used to have some decent stuff but now they have mostly tee shirts with cheerleading or dance logos on them. That's OK if you're twelve, but I'm 35!) Anyways, they fit perfect, no gap in the back, and were on sale, plus I had a code from retailmenot.com, so they were a steal.
I also LOVE Kohls and can get away with some of the small/x-small juniors and either 12 or 14 kids. Again, you have to weed through the little-kiddish looking stuff to find the gems. Candies has cute stuff there. Plus they have constant "sales"!
For shoes, if I need heels I go through Cinderella of Boston, but I've gotten some awesome sandals with short heels and tall boots from lovemyshoes.com and zappos. I love the brand Sugar that they carry, very funky!
When I think of more I will list them!
