I'm very happy to have found this forum. It's hard to find people who understand how difficult being petite really can be. My name is Jo. I'm 20 years old. I am 5'0 exactly and I weigh 90lbs. I'm about a size 0/1, or at least what it should be. I wear a size 6 in shoes. I'm quite thin and people are constantly accusing me of having an eating disorder even though I'm very healthy and eat more than enough (I've asked my doctor many times about my weight and he says I'm healthy). Most people think I'm about 14 years old. A few people have even said 11. Yikes! I recently dyed my hair black and got a hairstyle that a lot of people have made very positive comments on. They say I look a lot older with darker hair, very chic and more mature.
Pants are a nightmare for me to shop for. I can't find anything that really fits. My hip and waist proportions don't quite match up to most pants. I already know that nobody has a 29.5" inseam so I can forget about that. 30" is okay too, as long as I wear heels. But even finding a 30" inseam is pretty unrealistic. Anyway, I'm talking too much. I just wanted to say hello. |

Welcome Shorty, I have many of the same problems you do! Nothing seems to quite fit. There's some kind of custom pattern service listed on this site that I've been meaning to try though I thought most of the styles they were offering looked out of date. I still plan to try them at some point, maybe I'll change my mind once I see how it looks and feels
Good luck in your search for clothes that make you happy and let us know the brand if you find something! |

Hi Jo,
I know exactly how you feel. I am 5'1 and appx. 90 lbs. I am 28 and most people think I am a teenager. Pants are definitely a nightmare to buy. Glad you joined. |

welcome Shorty! I, too, have always been naturally really thin and have endured many comments and probing questions from doctors about it. I've put on a little weight (after drinking a milkshake or two each day for 3 years!) and the comments have eased up, but as I don't eat ice cream every day anymore will probably always be thin. I still find myself wearing chunky sweaters a lot. anyway, welcome, and boy can we relate!
