Default Hi

I am 5'2 and a mom of three. They are all in elementary school, but I see Middle School around the bend and I want to not be one of those "Mom Jeans" moms. Or a mom who shares clothes each day with her preteen. I am a size 0 or 2, but have been as large as a 10 in the past. Just because a kids size fits, doesn't mean it "FITS".
I am also a nurse practitioner. For many years I was a night shift ICU nurse, so fashion was not really on my radar (make some scrubs and Dansko clogs with blood on them cool, I dare you!! ha). Now I am an advanced practice nurse in a private practice seeing kids. I want to look good, be moderately washable, and be comfortable for a nice 10-hour day. (Yes, I do dream big.) Most of all, I would like to have a clue how to not look like a little girl in her mom's clothes or like an adult with their pants chopped off near the knees. I am learning what to do and NOT to do very slowly. I am starting to recognize what would clearly not work for me. I don't think I will be able to give much useful info back for a while-- unless you want stain removal tips. But, maybe someday....

Hi Terese! I know what you mean about not wanting to wear pre-teen clothing; I read this article on Slate about trying to find appropriate [Only Registered Users Can See Links. It's getting harder and harder to find things that aren't pink and covered with sparkles.

Do you have any trouble finding scrubs in your size?

Anyway, welcome to The Chic Petite and hope we'll all help each other look good! You never know when bloodstain removal tips will come in handy.
